Toronto: William Briggs, 1904. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. pp xi, 349, with folding map and 21 plates, bibliography, index. An attractive copy in publisher's green cloth with gilt lettering and insignia of snowshoes, rifle, and bow and arrow. Light rubbing to corners, a few small nicks in cloth at spine ends, penciled ownership inscription dated 1904 on front free endpaper. Sound and clean. Lowther 1534: "Presents details of fur-trading days, life at the Hudson's Bay trading posts, the story of the gold rushes, the work of missionaries (especially on the Babine and Skeena Rivers), as well as information on Indian life.
