Written by 3rd generation Oregonian just outside of Eugene. The author begins with the Mohawk River Watershed and early Mohawk history. Following chapters cover the lumber industry in the Valley ; falling and bucking ; rollways and parbuckle ; log drives. The Mohawk Valley Post Offices, Isabel-Marcola, First schools in the Valley, and Cemeteries are covered. The author takes you from around the turn of the century to after the turn of the century in this fascinating look at the Oregon wilderness, the vibrant logging community that flourished from the late 19th century until the mid-1930s, which is today a haunted ghost-town.
