Fair. Harper & Brothers 1854 printing, first was 1848. 12mo., embossed decor. red boards. Spine strip missing. Binding loose, steel engravings clean + good. Frontis from Gordon's portrait of Mary, with a gorgeous litho. in red, blue, green, brown, with coats of arms and titling; second frontis of Dumbarton Castle by Clyde, steel engravings and maps VG. Eliz McDONALD's award "premium" for her exertions in 1st Class History at St. Joseph's School, Baltimore. July 7th, 1855, tipped-in paper inside front cover.
