Printed at Worcester, Massachusetts.: By Isaiah Thomas, and sold, wholesale and retail, at his bookstore., MDCCXXXVII [1787]. 158, [2-bookseller advts] (32mo).
Condition: Collated complete with frontispiece and many woodcut illistrations. A clean and attractive text, untrimmed as original. Bound in early 3/4 morocco, marbled endpapers, marbled paper over boards [front cover detaching but present]. Otherwise a very good copy.
" The First Worcester Edition of a chap-book the authorship of which is now very generally ascribed to Oliver Goldsmith. The woodcuts and type are almost a facsimile of the English edition. The first copy of 'Goody Twoshoes' is said to have been published in 1765, but this and the second edition have completely disappeared" [Church]
