About This Item
London: Henry G. Bohn. Good with no dust jacket. 1861. Reprint. Hardcover. This is a challenging book to list, since it has appeared in so many printings, and since evidently these two volumes were followed by three more in English translation (with the French original appearing in a 20 volume set!) The book in hand has 969 pages, and ends with the Treaties of Tilsit, if that's any clue as to whether it would be of use to you. It is not illustrated, but does appear to give a blow-by-blow account of everything it touches on. This copy is beautifully bound in full leather, which has held up very well, and has gorgeous marbled endpapers and edges. HOWEVER, alas, the front board is fully detached. This is a big flaw, but otherwise, this is an excellent reading copy, since the paper is not foxed or damaged in the least, and although the print is small, it is highly legible. .
