With a portrait frontispiece, title vignette, six plates, and folding map to the front of the text. Collated complete. A comprehensive history of British India, from a general view of the natural features of India and ancient knowledge of the country, to the British conquest and subsequent wars. Offering a continuation comprising the Afghan War, the conquest of Sinde and Gwalior, and the War in the Punjaur. Written by Hugh Murray, a Scottish historian and author. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, worn with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Loss of the spine with minor fraying to the cloth at the joints. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound with the odd page loosening. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Further spotting to the first and last few pages. A 2" closed tear to the folding map from prior handling. College bookplate to the front endpapers. Good Only
