London: Groombridge and Sons, 1857. viii, 168, 29, 71 col + 2 plain plates. . HB. Roy. 8vo, cont. full panelled morocco, gilt and black rules to both boards with decorative gilt corner motifs, raised bands to spine with gilt rules to compartments, aeg, marbled endpapers, gt inner dentelles. Some light rubbing/scuffing and a few very minor marks to rear board. Some heavy foxing to endpapers, title, the two plain plates and adjacent text leaves, occasional light spotting elsewhere, slightly heavier to one plate, which also has browning to inner edge where a bookmark has previously been located. One plate bound inverted. A finely bound copy. Very good.. First reissue (first published 1853). Fine hand-coloured plates, printed by Benjamin Fawcett.McLean 15..
