About This Item

Leeds; (nd But Ca.1860): D. Banks. Hard Cover. Small Octavo. Four volumes in eight (lacking vol. 8) 155 hand-colored plates in total, bound in green blind stamped cloth, spines lettered in gilt, pale yellow coated endpapers. Neat owner's stamped name and name plate on FEP of each volume; text and plates are all free from foxing. An interesting set as we cannot locate any other copies from this publisher nor place of publication, no auction records, none located OCLC, etc. Birds are beautifully colored and the text makes note of the various years in which particular birds were located and in what country or area of the world. Volume numbers on spine, do not match those in the text, but all 7 volumes are present. The text runs from volume to volume. Sold as is.
