(Amsterdam: P. N. van Kampen & Zoon, [1918]). Small 4to; original dark green pebbled cloth, lettered in gilt on spine and upper cover; pp. (iv) + 268 + (i). Very slightly rubbed; some leaves unopened; regular browning throughout; occasional fox spot. Good. Dutch text. Herman Theodoor Colenbrander (1871-1945) was a Dutch historian and archivist with a particular interest in colonial history. This focus naturally caused him to pay attention to events in South Africa. The fourth volume of his 'Historie en Leven', offered here, has the following sub-title: Betrekkingen van Nederland tot België, Zuid-Afrika, Noord-Amerika, Indië. - Menschen en Boeken. - Overheidszorg voor Natuur en Kunst. .
