London: Whittingham and Wilkins, 1862. Hardcover. 16mo. Modern rebind in quarter calf with gilt spine lettering and marbled paper over boards. xii, 436pp; pp. 437-805. Fine/very good. Bindings tight and superb; mild bit of wear to text block; faint purple Le High University Library oval inkstamp on each title page. A handsome first edition of this 2-volume set. Stevens (1819-86) was the celebrated Americana specialist bookseller from Vermont who spent most of his career in London. This duo describes 2,934 rare Americana titles. A superb set.
