Indeed a beautiful volume, very well preserved. Bright blue boards with pictorial design in gilt., 343 pp. Pages are a little browned but book is magnificent! Rare in this condition. A railroad book with very special appeal. Rather than photos, it is illustrated with sketches and paintings of settings related to the history of railroads around the world. Color frontis of steam train crossing a flaming trestle in wartime. "the General covered nine miles in nine minutes". This is really a super book in super condition for the collector who has all the others.
