The Macmillan Company, 1917. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/FACSIMILE - Fine. Signed. SIGNED by Ernest Poole on a non publisher's tipped in page. Dark blue boards with gilt stamped lettering. The volume is bumped on the spine ends and corners, rubbed along the bottom edges with some abrasions, the gilt lettering is maybe a tad subdued on the spine, but quite intense on the front panel, and the front and rear panels have some light bubbling. There is a gift inscription on the front endpaper (it is repeated at the top of page 1), and the second half title page and first page of the text have a partial vertical extending from the top edge. Comes with a fine FACSIMILE, mylar sleeved, dust jacket. First novel to be awarded the Pulitzer prize in literature.
Synopsis
His Family is a novel by Ernest Poole published in 1917 about the life of a New York widower and his three daughters in the 1910s. It received the first Pulitzer Prize for the Novel in 1918.
