Inscribed on front end paper "Helen Hawley with this author's best on August 15, 1904". This endpaper is missing the top right corner - does not effect inscription. Corners lightly bumped. Boards have wear on edges. Endpapers are yellowed. Large closed tear on top of 2nd pg. (picture of Trajan on reverse). Previous owner's name (Helen Hawley) and date on title page. 333 pgs..
