Through the over eight thousand prints he produced in his lifetime, most of them landscapes, Hiroshige not only altered the Japanese conception of nature and influenced the art of the West, but he created for himself a place among the great artists of the world. Contains numerous gorgeous colour full-page illustrations. Text in English, French, Italian and German. Light wear overall. Prior owner's details and one inch square beige discolouration upon front endpaper. Bit of writing at bottom of page 41. No other markings. No tears to dust jacket. Very nice copy..
