About This Item

London: George G. Harrap & Co, 1968. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. This copy looks almost new. The interior is clean and crisp, with no marks or wear. The green covers are fresh, with just a hint of wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is price-clipped, but is otherwise in excellent condition, again with little wear and no damage. A very nice copy. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: "The Shoe Shop Bears and Hannibal the toy elepant are now living in the new shoe shop with Polly and Frank Fielding. Polly has a baby, and to share the Bears' extra work, Frank orders Hi-Jinks, a bright new nylon teddy, on offer on a cereal packet. The older Bears are slow to accept the rather 'with-it' Hi-Jinks, with her smart fringed boots, the bells around her neck, and the skirt that eveyrone agreed was a mere cake frill, but they were very pleased when she helps win a "Highly-Commended" for Frank's window display in their local competition.
