Closed tear to A2 and repair to lower corner of A5 in vol I; short marginal tear (without loss) to B3-4 in vol II; occasional faint underlining in pencil. Early 20th century red gilt-ruled calf, rubbed to extrems, a.e.g. Old ownership signatures of P. Vance Smith and 20th century book labels of Robert A.N. Petrie, partially removed.
