About This Item
New York: A New Directions Book, 1972. Paperback. ix, 117p., multiple paginations (later long poems have an internal numbering system), softbound in 8x5 inch decorated b&w wraps. Leafing through we noticed a reference to hasheesh (p.21, as "hachish"), also mandragora, and perhaps other mind-numbing veggies. - FYI, a pirated edition was issued one year later in an abbreviated text (3 long poems only), its title pluralized with an "s" tacked on to "Definition.
