London: John Murray, 1908. First Edition. 8vo, pp. xvi, 605. Bibliography, index. Illustrated with 49 drawings, a few in color. Blind-stamped red cloth, gilt lettering on spine. Complimentary slip laid in. Cover a little soiled, and worn at corners and ends of spine, o/w VG. A textbook on "heredity" and what was known of genetics. Thomson, professor of natural history at the University of Aberdeen, was a follower of Weismann.
