Gastronomical anthology of feasts drawn from historical and literary sources, ranging from Lucius Apuleius to Virginia Woolf, with commentary and analysis by Fisher: "[Food] increased in richness as culture developed." Octavo. Original blue cloth binding, with gilt titles. Mild fading and wear along the extremities of the boards. The dust jacket is price-clipped, with some general minor shelfwear, including a bit of shallow chipping to the spine ends; otherwise very good.
