North Carolina: Privately Published, 1991. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavo. 399 pages. Hardcover bound in green cloth with titles in gilt. Light wear to the binding; the corners are a little bumped. A sound copy with clean text. Contains several illustrations. Appears to have been published without a title page. Inscribed by Virginia Jackson on the title page, "To Martha Stewart, a very special friend- with love, Virginia Jackson." No copyright date, but 1991 is stamped in gilt on the spine along with the title. Henry Tull Jackson (1909-1985) was born in North Carolina. In WWII he was in North Africa, China, Burma, and India. The bulk of the entries are personal letters to his wife. He died in High Point, North Carolina.
