A bright first edition/first printing in Near Fine condition with some soiled page edges and adhesive residue to front free end paper in a Very Good- dust jacket with chipping, edgewear, and adhesive residue to front flap; Henry Garnet was born in 1555 and died in 1606. He was a lawyer and politician who was involved in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. The plot was a plan to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London with gunpowder to overthrow the English government. Garnet was arrested and later executed for his part in the plot.; 8vo ; 466 pages .
