About This Item
4to HB. pp; 58. Rebound, card-covered pamphlet with author's signature to original card cover, and school prize label to verso. Good in green cloth, lettered gilt to spine. Some light bumping to the extremities, and a slight fade along the margins of the boards. Given as a prize at Sevenoaks School in 1950. Laid-in are a programme and tickets for the speech day, the essay that won the prize and, most curiously, a note from the author disparaging the quality of entered essays and, rather grudgingly to my mind, saying that under the circumstances he feels that this is the best prize he can offer!
