About This Item
London: Oxford University Press, 1970. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8.75 x 5.5. The interior of the book is crisp and clean. There is a former owner's name on the front free end paper, but no other marks or wear. The grey covers are fresh, with just a touch of wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is not price-clipped and is in excellent condition. Synopsis: Set in Victorian England, this is a set of six stories about the Henchman family -- Dr. and Mrs Henchman and their children William, Ellen, and Robert -- who live in the small Suffolk town of Rushby. The stories span eleven years and spotlight incidents in the children's lives as they grow up. The author's earlier book, "Castors Away !", chronicled the adventures of a previous generation of the family.
