First Edition, First Printing. Very Good in a Very Good dustjacket. Turquoise cloth with silver lettering on spine. Solid binding, square with sharp corners. Minor shelf wear. The interior is clean and unmarked. The unclipped dustjacket shows original $4.50 price, with edgewear and chipping at head of spine. Protected in mylar cover. Translated from the German by Rachard and Clara Winston, with jacket design by George Salter. Basis for Bobby Deerfield, the 1977 Sydney Pollack film starring Al Pacino and Marthe Keller. Carefully packaged and shipped in a box.
Synopsis
Heaven Has No Favorites is a novel by a famous German writer Erich Maria Remarque. This novel is a story about the passion and love in the background of automobile racing. The novel was serialized in the Hamburg magazine "Kristall" in 1959 under the title Borrowed Life, and first published in book form in 1961.
