Budapest: Fazekas Lajos, 1937. First edition. Softcover. g to vg. Folio. (1), 11, 11pp. Original gray wraps with black lettering on orange label of cover, protected by modern mylar. Portfolio of ten woodcuts by the Jewish-Hungarian painter and graphic artist Endre Vadász (1901-1944) paying tribute to the emigration of Hungarian Jews triggered by the Hungarian anti-Semitic legislation in the 1930s. The series of ten woodcuts starts with an image of a pogrom followed by descriptive scenarios of the Jewish migration ending with the arrival in Palestine. Each woodcut is accompanied by a Biblical quote and descriptive text by the Hungarian writer and translator László Schnabel, printed to transparent tissue paper preceding each woodcut.
Text in Hungarian. Wraps with light sunning along edges and two small and one medium chip at edges of back cover. Block with very light age toning and light bumps at corners. Light creasing of title page at lower right corner. Starting at inside back cover. Wraps in overall good, interior in very good condition.
