About This Item
Sydney, Ashfield: Ashfield & District Historical Society / Inner West Environment Group, 2006. Paperback large wide octavo, very good condition, black & white photos, tables, maps, rear cover & last few pages little creased, top corner front cover little creased, minor edgewear. 128 pp. Mark Sabolch is fascinated by the old stormwater structures in the Inner West of Sydney. He researched the history of Hawthorne Canal which is located between Haberfield and Leichhardt. He discovered that it was originally named Long Cove Creek. The creek was entirely modified, but its past history was masked by its complete change of identity. The many photos, and maps make this a very interesting book for people wanting to learn about this historic canal.
