The first edition of this work. In the scarce unclipped dustwrapper. 'Hath the Rain a Father?' follows Julian, a man who believed that the source of all life is God, and for a fortnight when he is nineteen, he finds a shared purpose and ideas with ten year old Elizabeth. The novel also sees Mr Edwards, a reverend who is passionate, but laughed at by choir-boys. Written by Frances Bellerby, an English poet and novelist, who is generally best known for her short stories and poems. She settled in Cornwall, and later Devon, after a fall off a cliff left her semi-invalid. Bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Mary Turner'. Minor fading to the spine. Dustwrapper with minor discolouration and marking to the wraps. Minor edgewear to the dustwrapper, a little heavier to the head and tail of the spine. Small amount of discolouration to the reverse of the dustwrapper. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
