Sievwright lived in what is now the Western District of Victoria and in his role as Assistant Aboriginal Protector where he tried to save the Aborigines of the district from extinction. The book draws largely on original archival material, including official reports, journals and letters, found in Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Edinburgh and London-most never before published. This material is supplemented by contemporary newspaper accounts, and some oral history.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Fine. Small 4to.
