Chicago: McDonnell Bros.. Good+. 1866. Hardcover. ; Complete 2 volume set. Half brown morocco leather bound covers with 5 raised bands and gilt stamping over brown pebbled boards have loss to some of the gilt and heavily frayed corners but in good+ condition. Leather has been specially treated with book leather product to prevent further deterioration. Boards and spines are straight. Bindings are tight. Glossy marbled end sheets and paste downs clean and bright. Pages are toned with a handful of pages with a short tear in the margin but clean and very good. The quarter-fold color map in volume 1 has several short tears in the margins and at the center fold a larger tear. These tears could be neatly repaired on the back side to preserve or if planning to frame. The title page in volume 2 has several small soil spots and is partially detached. Profusely illustrated in b&w. Folio 16" x 12". .
