Chicago: Star Publishing Company, 1894. Half Leather Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. 836pp. Profusely illustrated with woodcut illustrations & maps, including the 4-page color folding map of the "Southern States", with several margin tears but no chips. Original marbled endpapers. Original half leather with gilt-stamped spines. Volume 1 front hinge split about half way down with a small chip at spine top. Volume 2 has a 1" chip at spine top. Interiors good. Promoting global literacy for over 30 years.
