About This Item

Lippincott, 1971. The basis of the cult film starring Ruth Gordon as the mentor of a teenage boy (played by Bud Cort) who is obsessed with death. But the book, and the movie, is much more than that. It really is about the affirmation of life, celebrating each person's individuality. Minor wear and light sunning to spine (some reds are faded as common with many copies), no major creases or tears on DJ. A couple of small light soiling spots on the book cover, not very noticeable. Nice presentable copy.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Near Fine/Similar DJ.

Synopsis

Harold and Maude is a 1971 American film directed by Hal Ashby. It incorporates elements of dark humor and existentialist drama, with a plot that revolves around the exploits of a young man intrigued with death, Harold. Harold drifts away from the life that his detached mother prescribes for him, and develops a relationship with septuagenarian Maude. The screenplay upon which the film was based was written by Colin Higgins, and published as a novel in 1971.
