About This Item

New York: Vantage Press, Inc., 1954. Hardcover. Fair/poor. Signed and inscribed by the author on the front free-endpaper in blue ink, "to Miss Sarh Woods. Inscribed at Old Economy July 31, 1954 Christiana F. Knoedler." Old Economy refers to Old Economy Village, now a National Historic Landmard that preserves the commune's history. Blue hardcover , only fair condition with the "remains" of a dustjacket included for completeness. Wear and deterioration to the spine tips and corners, and some dark staining to the boards. Binding is intact but lacking tightness and the book lays flat open with no effort. Previous owner's bookplate to the paste-down, otherwise an unmarked copy. The dustjacket is torn in half at the front joint, but all pieces are present, tattered and torn. 160 pp., indexed, some black and white photos. An interesting look at properous commune, originated from the Lutheran Separatists.
