New York: Delacorte Press, 1999. Hardcover. Small 4to. Black and red paper over boards, dust jacket. xii, 385pp. Good only/near fine. Binding itself very good, but text block bears numerous book reviewer's underlinings and margin notes (mostly pencil, some in pen) plus (as if that's not enough) the occasional yellow highlighter. A tight, outwardly attractive first edition, though, boldy inscribed and signed by the author in blue fineline on the title page: "Al / Thanks / Sara Paretsky / 9/99.
Synopsis
