First American edition. 224pp. Quarter bound in black cloth over grey cloth-covered boards; gilt initials on front, gilt titles on spine. Bumped spine ends, cloth fraying. Edges of boards discolouring. Small bump to outer edge of rear board. Text block edges tanning. Star stamp on front paste down; previous owner's details (in pencil) on front free endpaper. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. No dust jacket. 12mo. The script for The Master's work set in England between the wars.
