Hanuman Books, Madras / New York

Hanuman Books was founded by the editor Raymond Foye and the artist Francesco Clemente in 1986. The New York office was set up in the Chelsea Hotel with production in Madras, India.

Designed and printed by C. T. Nachiappan of the Kalakshetra Press, Madras. The books were handmade, printed offset and sewn bound in a format (10.5 x 7.0 cm) to resemble a miniature Indian prayer book. The editions were 1,500 and edited by Raymond Foye and Francesco Clemente.

Published between 1986–1992 with 6 books to the series of 8 in each to make a total of 48 books. Plus one larger format, God with Revolver, published in 1990 in a larger format, as God with Revolver's word count was too large for the smaller format.
