Heinrich Dieterich. Owner's name on front free end page. Blumenbach, physiologist and anthropologist, was Professor of Medicine at Göttingen. He was the first to show the value of comparative anatomy in the study of anthropology. (Ref. Garrison and Morton, Page 53, No. 312). Includes the page with Instructions to book-binder on the last free end page. With 8 plates. Six of the plates are missing the lower edge of the margin. Small repair and tide mark to title page. Some scattered foxing and age-toning. Some rubbing. Speckled green tint to all edges. 549 Pages. Good to Very Good. Marbled boards and spine. Edge-wear to extremities. Bumping to corners. Some rubbing to boards. Title in gilt.
