London: The new Sydenham Society, 1883-1886. 1st Edition . Good Plus. 6 x 8.75 inches (15 x 22 cm). First English language edition. Complete three volume set. Brown blind stamped cloth bindings with gilt vignette to front board. Red dyed page edges. Damp staining to boards. Discolouration to page edges. Tear to head of spine of Volume I. Slight wear to corners of boards. Good solid bindings. Occasional patches of foxing to text. Volume III has some marking to endpapers and a few pages have been stained by pressed plants. Previous owner's inscription to all volumes (H.J. Gibson 1938) and another owner's inscription to half title page of volume III (H.J. Baylor, A.M. Staff). A good usable example of this classic work. Garrison-Morton 8378: 'The best edition of Hirsch's Handbuch der historisch-geographischen Pathologie.'. Overall condition is Good Plus.
