Top edge trimmed, others are untrimmed. Text headers and incidental art printed in black, No date, no ads, no printer listed. No series listed. 42 pp. **The cover art by Glasgow School artist Jessie M. King (1875-1949) to this booklet consists of an art deco watercolored illustration in black, blue, yellow and green, with the characteristic hand-lettered title. Underneath this sits a band of blue surmounted with a circle of bunched yellow dandelions and their spiky green leaves. Bits of drifting dandelion seeds lead the eye from the top to the bottom of the page, where more organic matter lies at the outer edges of the lower blue band (are these the roots of the flowers above, snapped off?) The design spans the spine, and there is a further floral sprig in the center of the rear wrap.**Bristol, England-born Artist and illustrator William Hatterell (1855-1928) provides 4 chromolithographs from original watercolor drawings to this volume: "Chiaro sat with his face in his open hands." (frontispiece), "Ladies who lay or sat along the balconies (title page); "Chiaro went slowly on his knee (p.16); and "Sometimes, after nightfall, he would walk abroad in the most solitary places. (p.32).**CONDITION: Very Good. One bent corner to yapp edge on lower left cover. Light foxing to outer edges of prelims. and a bit to edge of text block. Small English bookstore label to inside front cover. Now in a mylar protector. **The text, a fictional short work by the English Pre-Raphaelite painter and Author, Dante Gabrielle Rossetti (1928-1982), first appeared in the Pre-Raphaelite magazine, "The Germ" in 1850. There were a lot of variations on this one; it most closely adheres to the description in Elfick and Harris No. 317, p. 155, circa 1913. . Soft Cover. Very Good. Illus. by Jessie M. King (cover); William Hatterell, R.I..
