Handwritten on vellum, two-sided; one side rough from removal. Modestly aged. 8.25 by 13 inches. Mounted [not attached] to descriptive board with further description on adjacent board.
Would look lovely framed.
From books title page: The blessed explanations (If God Wishes) were done by its collector, the poor for God's Blessings; and his Slave.
May God help him to achieve what is right for the sake of the Prophet.
On Thursday 13, Gandi El Aakhar, 1276, the writing of the contents of the book was completed. The commentary which this leaf was a part discussed the Islam Religion, how it started, difficulties and other factors in other religions that contributed to of opposed the Islamic religion.
Found in Jerusalem by Stanley S. Slotkin, Chairman of the Board of Abbey Rents Co.
The original book from which the leaf was taken were collected and disbound by Stanley Slotkin in the 1960's. Slotkin produced display sheets and distributed individual book leaves to institutions and collectors.
