Pages 251-272 are Wyoming advertisements; there is also an advertisement for the "Home Brewery" in Cheyenne, Wyoming printed on the rear pastedown. Moderate sunning to spine and moderate soiling to boards; previous owner's inscription on front endpaper (contemporary); text block has light toning; p. 223 has a 2 ½" tear at top edge, affecting content. Strahorn originally went west as a correspondent during the conflicts with the Sioux in 1876, but eventually ended up as one of the West's biggest publicists. His guides to the Wyoming and Montana territories were among the first of their kind for the area. ; B & W Illustrations; Large 8vo 9" - 11" tall; 272 pp .
