Fine first US editions, first impressions, of Sue Grafton's influential crime novels, each book titled after a letter in the alphabet. The first US editions, first impressions of these works. In the original publisher's unclipped dustwrapper. Containing; 'H is for Homicide', published in 1991. 'I is for Innocent', published in 1992. 'J is for Judgment', published in 1993. 'L is for Lawless', published in 1995. 'R is for Ricochet', published in 2004. Written by Sue Grafton, who is best known for this influential and popular series of detective novels, known as the 'alphabet series'. She started writing her detective novels after a bitter divorce and custody battle, which resulted in Grafton imagining ways to kill or maim her ex-husband, providing inspiration for this detective series. Sadly, Grafton died before she was able to finish the series, writing a total of twenty-five novels only, ending with ''Y' is for Yesterday'. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, 'H', 'I', 'J', and 'L', are fine. Dustwrapper for 'I' and 'L' are fine. A couple of light marks to the boards of 'R'. A couple of light marks to the reverse of the dustwrapper of 'H'. A light amount of edgewear to the head of the spine to the reverse of 'J'. Price sticker to the rear wrap of 'R'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
