New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. 1939. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Inscribed presentation copy. Publisher's red cloth illustrated and with titles in white to the upper board and spine. Illustrated in black and white throughout by Leonard T. Holton. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, with some darkening to the spine and extremities. The contents are entirely complete, clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Short closed tear to the last page of index. Inscribed by the illustrator in black ink on the half title "To Ruth and Paul / With fondest / memories of happy / days and nights / on Race and on / Pavelton... and / Happy New Year 1940 / Margie and Len".
