Orig. published in 1930 in a private edition of only 50 copies, this is the FIRST TRADE EDITION, first printing, rest & republished by Peter Davies of London, 1937. Preface by the Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, K. G. In 285 pages with glossy black-and-white photo frontispiece & 8 additional internal photographic illustrations. Hardcover book has deep blue cloht-covered boards with gilt title box & lettering on spine. Condition is VG+: extremely clean, binding strong & straight, pages mildly tanned (heavier around edges), commensurate with age. Modest rubbing to extremities. the unclipped DJ (with price in British pounds sterling intact on bottom front flap)) is downgraded to only Fair due to some major chipping, completely missing a large (3") chunk at heel of spine, light soiling, toning.
