First Shasta edition, collecting previously-published stories; each previously appearing only in periodicals or in collections featuring multiple authors. Black quarter cloth and green boards, with light edgewear, bump to bottom fore-edge corner of back panel, slight foxing to fore-edge margin of front, and faint dampstaining around spine head. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket very good in Mylar, clean and bright with light general edgewear, faint wave to top margin of back cover. Textblock edges lightly foxed, small spot of dampstaining to top of textblock near spine. Prior owner's name penned to front paste down, dated 1952; interior else clean, text unmarked.
Synopsis
"The Green Hills of Earth" is a science fiction short story by Robert A. Heinlein, and the title of a song, "The Green Hills of Earth", mentioned in several of his novels. One of his Future History stories, the short story originally appeared in The Saturday Evening Post (February 8, 1947), and it was collected in The Green Hills of Earth (and subsequently in The Past Through Tomorrow).
