About This Item
Hertfordshire: Greenhill Books, 1986. Hardback octavo, dustjacket, very good condition (in very good dustjacket), minor edgewear jacket (minimal foxing), edges & pages lightly toned, light foxing endpapers, owner's written name front pastedown. 287 pp. This book by Paul Bewsher, originally published in 1919, delightfully describes his time flying as observer in the huge Handley-Page night bombers with the RNAS during World War 1 (WW1). The memorable raids include one on a bridge over the River Meuse (the longest night flight on a target at that time, some 159 miles behind enemy lines), and a dramatic raid in April 1918 on Zeebruge.
