About This Item

New York: Harper & Bros., 1898. First edition. . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Peter Newell. A near fine copy in dust jacket with only minor chipping to spine ends. Set in is a typed letter signed by the author, dated 1900. Also set in are two delightful 1897 monthly ad fliers promoting this book as it appeared in Harper's Magazine. Titled "Harper's June" and "Harper's October," both feature ad for upcoming issues, and illustrations by Newell, one of which appears to be a mad scientist flying a UFO-like contraption. And ideal copy of an scarce, early fantasy title.
