The first edition of this illustrated topographical work of Great Britain by Thomas Moule and William Westall. The first edition of this work, described by antiquarian Thomas Moule with illustrations by William Westall. A charming topographical work on the beautiful scenes of Great Britain, depicting some of the most beautiful landscapes, cities, and towns of Britain.Illustrated with a vignette title page, and fifty-nine plates. Each plate consists of two engravings. Collated, complete.Page iv is incorrectly numbered vi, as usual with this edition. No half title. The vignette title page of this copy was hand-coloured. In a half calf binding over marbled boards and endpapers. Externally rather worn with shelf wear and rubbing to the spine and boards, chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. With some notes inscribed in pen by a previous owner to the rear blank page. Internally, firmly bound. With the odd minor spotting scattered throughout, otherwise the pages are generally bright and clean. Illustrated with a vignette title page, and fifty-nine plates. Each plate consists of two engravings. Collated, complete. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
