About This Item
New York: Dodd Mead, 1981. First Edition. Octavo. 21.5cm. Publisher's red cloth spine over slate blue paper covered boards, titled in gilt to spine. Dustjacket. 212pp. A near fine copy in a pricelipped dustjacket. Internally clean. A stirring account of the almost forgotten late 19th century outbreak of mysterous airship sightings across the US (although every 18th and 19th century aeronaut ever would like a word about the statement, "There could not have been an airship at that time, the Wright Brothers Kitty Hawk was still seven years in the future," which is not a claim that should have made it past an editor and into print).
