Woodfall, 1778. 4to, viii & unpaginated lexicon in triple column, title page printed in red and black; full contemporary calf ruled in gilt, elaborately gilt-tooled spine in 6 compartments, all edges red, blue papier-peint endpapers; boards quite scuffed, edges rubbed and worn, hinges weak, minor loss of leather at spine head; label remnant on front free endpaper; text block fine. A popular work that went through as many as 15 editions by the 1830s. Lowndes, p. 1031: "Much esteemed and highly useful." Vancil, p. 109; see also Zaunmüller, p. 169 for additional editions.
