The First UK printing of 'the miniature edition' published by Walker Books, London in 1991 (The original First UK hardback having been published in 1983). The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Hardback covers are clean and internally there are no inscriptions. The book measures 13 x 11cm. The book has been signed by the author/illustrator on the half-title : 'For Vera, Very best Wishes , Anthony Browne'. Anthony Browne has also doodled an image of the gorilla next to the inscription. The book is protected in a loose mylar archival cover. Profusely illustrated in colour throughout. 'For his lasting contribution as a children's illustrator Anthony Browne won the biennial international 'Hans Christian Andersen Award' in 2000, the highest recognition available to creators of children's books. From 2009 to 2011 he was the 'Children's Laureate'. Browne has also won two 'Kate Greenaway Medals' from the Library Association, recognising the year's best children's book illustration. For the 50th anniversary of the Medal (1955 2005), a panel named his 1983 medalist 'Gorilla' one of the top ten winning works. Very scarce with such attributes. More images available on request.
